On November 12-14, the 2019 AFRICACOM Exhibition was held in Cape Town International Convention Center, South Africa. AM HENGTONG , the new fiber optic cable production base of Hengtong  in South Africa, made its debut at the exhibition.

AM HENGTONG is a new joint venture between Hengtong Group and Alcon Marepha, based in Johannesburg, South Africa. AM HENGTONG utilize the latest world-class manufacturing equipment to produce a wide range of optical fiber cables and other related products. The type of optical cable in initial production stage is outdoor optical cable, which is expected to be officially put into production in early 2020. Under the Belt and Road Initiative, the establishment of this fiber optic cable plant once again consolidated the strength of Hengtong's localized operation in Africa.

With the theme of "accelerating business transformation and strengthening African economy", the exhibition strongly expressed the market demand of Africa to develop economy and expand the construction of communication facilities such as optical fiber transmission backbone network, fixed telephone, mobile communication and Internet. Hengtong showed its independent research and development products, such as Preform, air blowing micro cable solution, FTTx solution and FTTx flexible access solution, ODN and other high-end communication products and solutions.

At the same time, the rail transit , indoor and outdoor signal coverage series, 5G related new products, applications and system solutions on display also fully showed the latest progress of Hengtong in 5G  application.
